A quick hello

I am alive, do not worry. I am just being spoiled and loving every second of it. Who would not love shopping, London bathing in sun, pizza for lunch and prosecco before dinner? That is what I thought.

I have to show you a sunny Hyde Park!

Yesterday Chelsea and I decided to go for a Sunday walk in Hyde Park. She texted me at 11am saying that the weather was beautiful, so we had to get out and enjoy it while we could. Hyde Park is one of my favourite places in London. There is always a lot of people there, no matter weather.

“It came to me that Hyde Park has never belonged to London – that it has always been, in spirit, a stretch of countryside; and that it links the Londons of all periods together most magically – by remaining forever unchanged at the heart of a ever-changing town”
Dodie Smith, I Capture the Castle

Come with me to Mill Hill Park

The other day Sandra and I got restless and decided to explore the area around where we live. We have not really seen that much on our earlier walks around the area, so we wanted to see if we could find Mill Hill Park, a park really close to us that is supposed to be very pretty. Guess what? We found it (after loosing our track a couple of times and using Google Maps of course, but then again we are foreigners so we are allowed to cheat a little)!

Until next time,

So far, so good.

“My Dad says that being a Londoner has nothing to do with where you’re born. He says that there are people who get off a jumbo jet at Heathrow, go through immigration waving any kind of passport, hop on the tube and by the time the train’s pulled into Piccadilly Circus they’ve become a Londoner.”
Ben Aaronovitch.

I have now been living in London for the past five months and I am loving every minute of it. So far, so good London. I have not been disappointed, sad or bored while being here. There is always something to do, something to see or something to experience in this city. Even while sitting in my room alone at night I am not bored. This city does amazing things to you and I am excited for every day I get to spend in this vibrant city. Thank you to fate, luck and hard work.

Just some of the wonderful things I have seen and experienced so far. To be honest I cannot wait for the rest to come. In a couple of weeks I am going to The O2 Arena to see my favourite band, The Script, play. In March I get to be a tourist with my family when they come to visit. In a couple of weeks I will also start the house hunting with my future flatmates which I am really looking forward to.

I have great things coming my way!
Until next time,
Silje
